FNMTV
according to MTV.com, FNMTV season 2 starts in November!!

An Important Message from Fall Out Boy...

Being from Chicago, we know "next years our year" all too well.

6 months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute. This is the most important election of our time and, as much as the record is a social commentary and the term "folie a deux" is relevant to the candidates, we felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick.

While we have all individually expressed our positions on the candidates that we support we feel that many of the interviews and press for the record have skewed us into a partisan band. While it may be obvious where we stand. We never intended to be the band that shoved our ideas down peoples throats. We only hope people look at the bigger picture and investigate the issues further on their own.

We're sure many people will be left wondering what's going on, it is our intent to get our record out this year and as soon as possible- as we made sure to have it done in time for its original release. It is now in the hands of our label to give us a new release date.

With this extra time we hope to add a suprise or two to the record and the campaign for you to vote on a series of "golden tickets" that we promise will be unlilke anything you have ever seen. We will also have an extensive preorder campaign that will take into account the current state of our economy. We still plan to release a series of new songs on itunes and in addition will be adding a series of a few additional podcasts as they received such a good reaction. We are extremely sorry but we feel that we are doing this for reasons that suit our ideals and are unselfish.

As terrible as we feel for those who have been waiting for this record we will be not only honoring all pre-orders but we are now playing a select series of extremely small club shows in the states in november. This will not be a tour and will for the most part not be in areas we have played in a while. These shows will take place in extremely small clubs that we played in prior to take this to your grave. Tickets will be very affordable and only available on day of.

When is the record coming out? Currently were not sure. We will be working hard to put pressure on our label to get it out before the end of the year but it is now in other people's hands.

Urie, meanwhile, is among the guests on Fall Out Boy's upcoming album, "Folie a Deux," which is due _______ via Island.

"It was a lot of fun," Urie reports. "I went into the studio and they showed me four or five of the tracks and I was really impressed with how they were recording them and the styles they had. I was able to throw some of my own little ideas into the piano parts and vocal things. I just hung out there for the afternoon and we had a lot of fun."

(source:billboard.com)

Folie a Deux will be released on December 16. While that late in the year may be a suprise to some, we felt that it was important to get our record out this year for our fans. Though this is not the date we had originally planned nor the optimal date according some demographic marketing analysis, we put our eight feet down told our label it must come out this year. We’re already bummed enough that Chinese Democracy is gonna beat us to release. Thank you for your all your comments today, they mean alot to us.

Almost five months after confirming they're expecting, it looks like Ashlee Simpson and hubby Pete Wentz are doing some last minute preparations for their baby's nursery!

The 24-year-old musician and mother-to-be stopped in with her mom at art gallery and children's bookstore Every Picture Tells a Story in Santa Monica, Calif. on Saturday and bought a print from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

"Ashlee looked radiant and heavily pregnant," says an eyewitness. "She had bright red hair and looked striking. She was very sweet and had a genuine interest in the children's art on display."

After picking up the slightly creepy artwork, Ashlee continued on to Jenny Bec's toy stor to shop for more baby goodies.

New FOB Shows + Pete & The Real!

What do 2 funny comedians from NY have in common with Ryland from Cobra and Pete Wentz? Not a whole lot if you ask me...but they got together to make a lil video that, i think, is hilarious. I could watch it over and over and over and over again.

Tis the season for holiday shows, and FOB just lined up 2. Better deck the halls & get your tickets now. Here are the dates:

12/3/08 - Detroit, MI - The Night 89X Stole Christmas Show - The Fillmore Detroit -Onsale 10/17

12/6/08 - Denver, CO - 93.3 Radio Show - Ogden Theatre - Onsale 10/11

Pete is always trying to tell kids about bands and artists to check out. What's a better way then Last FM we can go to it when ever and see what he's been listening to & his top favorites!

So we set up a poll I know you want it!

FALL OUT BOY HEADLINES "ROCK THE VOTE BALLOT BASH" IN DENVER, ON FIRST NIGHT OF DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION

Fall Out Boy's "Beat It" nominated for Best Rock Video at 25th annual MTV VMAs

(August 26, 2008 – New York, NY) Multi-platinum three-time MTV VMA-winning Island Records group Fall Out Boy have officially announced their upcoming new third Island album FOLIE A DEUX, to be released on November 4th 2008. The band told a packed audience about the release last night at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, when they headlined the "Rock the Vote Ballot Bash." FOLIE A DEUX was produced by Neal Avron at The Pass Studios in Los Angeles. The first single will be the track "I Don't Care." Radio dates to be announced shortly.

For FOLIE A DEUX, Fall Out Boy spearheaded a politically charged group that unveiled cryptic "Big Brother" type messages in order to support and ignite a democratic process. Impressively, the creative album roll-out garnered over 1 Million impressions in just one week online across literally hundreds of websites such as absolutepunk.net, friendsorenemies.com, Live journal communities and many other popular music websites, including the band's own site, www.falloutboyrock.com. "This roll-out was started to engage people and let them tell their own stories. We came up with the beginning and the end, while the rest happened organically." says FOB bass player Pete Wentz.

Meanwhile, Fall Out Boy's cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" has been nominated for Best Rock Video at this year's 25th annual MTV VMAs. The worldwide cablecast takes place live from Paramount Studios in Hollywood, on Sunday night, September 7th at 9:00 p.m. (Eastern).

Since their first major market headlining North American arena tour in spring 2006, Chicago's Fall Out Boy – Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Troh man (guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums) – have appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone, Spin, Blender, and Alternative Press and have performed on NBC's The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, CBS's The Late Show with David Letterman, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live and

Fall Out Boy's 'Citizens For Our Betterment' Viral Campaign Hijacked By Florida Rockers Copeland

What's the difference between Fall Out Boy and melancholy Florida rockers Copeland? Turns out it's just the letter "U."

Confused? You're not alone. Depending on what you've read since Tuesday night, the bands were either planning to tour together, release albums on the same day or perhaps even open a joint checking account. And it's all thanks to a pair of viral marketing campaigns that somehow merged into one, befuddling not only legions of both bands' fans, but the bands themselves.

The story is ongoing — as all things "viral" must certainly be — and there are plenty of twists and turns yet to be revealed, but for sanity's sake, here's our attempt to clear up a little of the confusion. As far as we know, these are the facts:

On Monday, the Web site of FOB bassist Pete Wentz's label, Decaydance Records was hacked by a group calling themselves "Citizens for Our Betterment." That was met with a decidedly "eh" reaction from fans on message boards — until the following morning, when paparazzi photos of Wentz's wife, Ashlee Simpson, began to make the rounds, showing her clearly (almost too clearly) holding a pamphlet for the same group.

Almost instantly, the boards began to buzz. Was this all some sort of incredibly bizarre way of beginning promotion on FOB's new album, which Wentz had told MTV News would be out later this year? A look at this mysterious group's Web Site, coupled with a few bizarre blog posts from Wentz himself and the fact that members of the Decaydance act the Cab had suddenly taken to performing with "Citizens for Our Betterment" scrawled on their guitars, only seemed to confirm this suspicion (not to mention the organization's initials are CFOB). The site repeatedly pointed to a date — November 4, 2008 (which is also Election Day) — adding to the speculation that the new FOB album would hit stores in early November.

And everything began to hum along ... until things got weird(er).

On Tuesday night, fans began to notice that the Citizens site now linked to another page, RunRightBacktotheStart.com, which eventually took you further into the rabbit hole to a simpler site, YouAreMySunshineAlbum.com, featuring a photograph of some trees with "October 14, 2008" scribbled beneath it. Perhaps that's the date the first single from the album would drop?

Now it seemed like fans had the release date and title of the new Fall Out album, plus the date they could expect to hear the debut single, and there was much "OMG-ing." Only that rejoicing was shortsighted, because this is where Copeland got involved.

See, what those fans didn't know was that the Citizens site from which they had begun their link-fueled voyage wasn't Fall Out Boy's, it was CitizensFourOurBetterment.com ("four" as opposed to "for"), a mirror site Copeland launched to hijack a little buzz and promote an album of their own. Just how they managed to trick fans into heading to their site and not FOB's is still unclear (though it probably has something to do with an unintentional — or not — typo on a Fall Out Boy Livejournal fan site, but the fact remains that suddenly, two viral campaigns had merged into one, and no one seemed to be aware of it.

And as a direct effect of that crossover, all the subtle tricks Copeland had created to promote their album — a sticky web that included not only the RunRightBacktotheStart.com and YouAreMySunshineAlbum.com sites, but also a phony professor named Peter A. Steepale (whose name, when unscrambled, spells out the title of Copeland's 2006 album, Eat, Sleep, Repeat), his equally phony nonprofit organization and a YouTube page featuring a mysterious clip of a song being sung backwards — had now suddenly infiltrated FOB's viral world. It was no longer clear whether anyone involved had any control over the carefully plotted campaigns they had designed. The viral, it would seem, had really gone viral.

It would also seem that Copeland had some serious explaining to do. After all, they had stolen all of Fall Out Boy's thunder. And when MTV News reached out to frontman Aaron Marsh for comment on the entire situation, he did explain. Sort of.

"We had been discussing a viral campaign for three or four months now, placing some stuff on the Net, so some of this was just wacky timing," Marsh said. "The whole concept behind our campaign was that we wanted people to be looking at our Web site while they were thinking they were looking at someone else's. So we were poking around, and then FOB started their site, so we decided to use theirs. There was nothing malicious about it; we just saw an opportunity to reel in way more people.

"And when I think about how it might affect Fall Out Boy, all I can say is that Pete's a clever bloke, and he probably would've done the same thing had he thought of it," he continued. "I mean, think about it: The two campaigns are very similar — theirs is supposed to look like an ominous organization that's mucking around. The way [the two campaigns] crossed didn't hurt anyone."

Marsh said neither he nor his bandmates had heard anything from Fall Out Boy or their management, and he added that the FOB site wasn't the only one to receive the Copeland treatment. They had also launched a mirror of popular scene site AbsolutePunk.net — theirs used the URL Abso1utePunk.net (the number 1 instead of an "L") — which also linked to their various viral sites.

And to clear everything up even further, he confirmed that, yes, You Are My Sunshine is the name of the upcoming Copeland album, coming out October 14 on Tooth & Nail Records. And no, Fall Out Boy has nothing to do with any of that.

"The whole idea was mocking other sites, and if life went according to plan, you would've seen that continue, instead it got ripped to shreds overnight," Marsh said. "But, like I said, this wasn't done maliciously. And everything I've heard about Pete is that he's a marketing kind of guy; he's the king of making people talk and ruffling feathers, so he would've done the same thing if he could have. So if Fall Out Boy fans are mad about this whole thing, well, all I can say is that Pete would've done the same thing."

MTV News contacted Wentz for comment on the entire situation, and while he didn't seem upset at Marsh or anyone in Copeland, he did admit to being pretty amazed by how far out of control the entire thing had gotten. And he added that there were still many twists to come — in fact, FOB's Citizens site may have nothing to do with an album at all.

"To me, this is not a marketing campaign. It is a way to cause excitement about your art and have people earn it and understand it. The campaign we began is not ultimately a record release or an announcement of a tour," he wrote in an e-mail. " '60---' [the name he's given the endeavor] has always been a project of a different nature. I don't believe the full campaign has begun, and I also believe people are taking over the ship in a truly viral way. It doesn't hurt anyone, and hopefully it tells the story of the project better and makes it more appreciated."

It's a BOY?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Exclusive: Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Expecting a Boy
July 01, 2008

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are expecting a baby boy, a rep from the baby boutique Petit Tresor tells CelebTV.com exclusively.

The couple, who married in May, filled out a registry for their baby in June and our source says, “almost everything is blue.”

A salesperson who helped the couple said, “They [Simpson and Wentz] made it very clear that it was a boy.”

On June 30, the rocker couple bought a few T-shirts and bibs from Plain Mary with the words, “Hunk,” “Loved” and “Yummy” emblazoned on the front. The shirts retail for $28 and the bibs for $18.

Simpson and Wentz will visit the baby boutique next week to discuss the nursery, our source confirms.

Simpson’s rep did not immediately return our call for comment.

New album from FOB! Can't wait!!!!!!!!

Hey, bloggers! Pay attention, because Pete Wentz is about to make things very easy for you.

Here's what he has to say about Fall Out Boy's new album — you know, the one that may or may not have an Iggy Pop & the Stooges-meet-the Smiths feel to it? The same one they're currently working on with producer Neal Avron? Anyway, yeah, here's how Wentz describes it. And again, we urge you to have your OMGs and WTFs at the ready.

"It's early, but the ideas we've got right now, they're really guitar-riff-heavy. A lot of other bands, like AC/DC or the White Stripes, you know their songs by the opening guitar riff," Wentz told MTV News. "So basically, I want our record to be like an AC/DC album or a White Stripes album. I want to make sure the bloggers say that. Actually, I'm just kidding about that. Well, I was kidding about the White Stripes part. Not AC/DC."

So there you go. The new Fall Out Boy record is going to be heavily influenced by the fret-shredding heroics of Jack White and Angus Young. Except that it probably won't, because, as Wentz points out, pretty much every song the band has ever written has gone through about, well, 30 different permutations. And, like he said, it's still really early.

"We've put down, like, three to four songs, but they're just ideas right now. This is how we do our songs. They go through, like, 30 changes. 'Sugar [We're Going Down]' went through 30 changes, and then it just went back to the way it was when we first started, so I don't know if these ideas we've got now will change or end up just like they are now," he explained. "Right now, we've got a bunch of great parts surrounded by a web."

And they're weaving that web at Avron's home, which has perks the average recording studio wouldn't ("He's got a trampoline built into the ground, a pool and a really awesome kid. So it's really easy to do test marketing, because if his kid says it sucks, we know it sucks," Wentz laughed). And as for how the pre-production process works? Well, Wentz is quick to explain with a "Wizard of Oz" metaphor (why not?).

"The way it works is, Patrick is kind of like Dorothy from 'The Wizard of Oz,' and we're all the supporting characters. I'm like the Tin Man, Hurley is Toto, and Trohman is definitely the Lion, because he's got big hair and he's very boisterous," he laughed. "I go over there after I leave the set of 'FNMTV,' and usually before too. Usually twice a day. Patrick is always there, working on new stuff. We keep him chained in the basement."

So when can fans expect to hear the new album? Well, Wentz said FOB hope to start recording it this summer, and that it will hopefully be in stores before the end of the year. Then again, that wouldn't be the first time he's said something like that.

"I think we're gonna start recording this summer, because it's 116 degrees in Los Angeles, and I need to be someplace with extreme air-conditioning," he said. "But I always say that, and then we screw it up, so we'll see."

Pete doesn't like Birthday gifts.

Pete Wentz turned 29 yesterday and marked the occasion with a big bash at Foxtail with new wife Ashlee by his side. And although the dad-to-be has lots of reasons to celebrate, a source says he never raised a glass the entire evening.

Looks like Pete's not drinking because Ash can't either...How sweet!

Even without booze, the birthday boy seemed to have a great time. Although Brent Bolthouse had the entire upstairs area reserved exclusively for their party, Pete and Ash spent most of their time downstairs, chatting and shaking hands with regular folks.

She was dressed in a black mini—that didn't show any signs of a belly—and gladiator-style stiletto heels. Pete matched perfectly, wearing black slacks and a button-up.

Around midnight, the waitstaff brought out a a cake for Pete and everyone (including his dad) sang "Happy Birthday."

(It took the Fall Out Boy bassist several tries to blow out his candles, but he finally managed, all while getting frosting smeared down the front of his suit.)

Soon after, the newlyweds called it a night, exiting Foxtail through the front door where they greeted by 30 or so of Pete's closest paparazzi pals.

source:eonline.com

In honor of her hubby’s 29th birthday, Ashlee Simpson escorted Pete Wentz for a romantic evening out on the town on Thursday night (June 5).

The Outta My Head singer and her birthday boy got all dressed up and headed over to West Hollywood hot spot “Foxtail” - as the pair were swarmed by paparazzi while they wiggled their way in through the entrance.

Meanwhile, contrary to many of his fellow Hollywood stars, Pete recently spoke with E!’s Jason Kennedy about how he dislikes receiving big gifts on his birthday.

“The truth is I hate my birthday. I don’t like it at all. It’s because I realized I’m bad at receiving presents,” says Wentz.

“I’m really bad at receiving presents so I get really nervous around my birthday and I really don’t want people to give me presents.”

Geez, I'm the opposite of Pete,
I love gifts

New Album from Fall Out Boy? An interview with Patrick Stump

Fresh after attending bandmate Pete Wentz's wedding to Ashlee Simpson a few weekends ago, Fall Out Boy guitarist Patrick Stump tells Billboard.com a new album is on the horizon for the pop-punk/emo, act but he's unsure of its arrival date.

"It's one of those things music-wise where the band is really not talking about a record yet, but we're all itching to do one," Stump says. "Actually at the wedding we were like, 'We should do another record.' But I never want to mislead people."

He adds, "So it's weird, because there's been rumors of us doing our next record for a long time, but it kind of comes from a misunderstanding about how we work because we're always writing. We've had material since 'Infinity on High' dropped. So there is plenty just floating around, but it's basically like whenever you're ready to go in and do it again, that's when it happens."

Stump went on to say while the band has more material in the mix than ever before going into record an album, he doesn't know if that will help or hinder the act when it decides to finally enter a studio. What he does know in looking forward is that the project will be different from the band's first three albums, which were all interconnected musically and thematically.

"I don't want to be overly vague, but whenever we do another record, it'll be different from the last one, and it's going to be different from the last three," he says. "I think the new stuff will have a lot of freedom on it, and it's going to be our first just plain old record in a while."

Stump says he wouldn't be surprised if the band ends up playing a few gigs this year. "We always end up playing somewhere," Stump says. "I don't think we want to get rusty, and we're not going away for any length of time. It's weird because it seems like every band is going on indefinite hiatus, and I want to be one of the first bands to say there is nothing hiatus or indefinite about what's going on (with Fall Out Boy) right now."

For now, the members of Fall Out Boy are just doing "life stuff." While it was confirmed recently that Wentz and Simpson are expecting their first child, Stump has been using his time away from the band to produce (Gym Class Heroes, Tyga and the Cab) and dabble in filmmaking.

The 24-year-old Illinois native is currently three days into a five-day shoot for his short feature "The Moustachette," which as actor-writer-director-producer he hopes to have finished this summer. However, Stump isn't sure whether it'll just be a YouTube showing or something bigger.

"It's a satire about the arts," Stump says. "It pulls on a lot of my experiences as a musician, especially in this Perez Hilton blog culture, where there are so many more people who are more interested in the stuff you get out of arts -- the girls you can pick up at parties and the money you get, that type of stuff -- than they are about the actual arts."
